Standard objections that we hear when we bring up adding employment practices liability insurance are:
“All of the employees are like a family”
“We have a harassment policy in place”
“We have very low turnover”
These responses don’t prevent a lawsuit from happening and it’s important to have a policy. The attached scorecard can be used as a tool to determine whether you’re doing the things to mitigate a claim or that you need to put more policies and procedures in place along with an insurance policy.
